REQUESTING DOCUMENTS FROM LATVIA
If you wish to obtain an official document issued in Latvia, for example birth, marriage, death certificate, you must fill out a request form in triplicate, and either bring or mail in the 3 copies to the Embassy, along with payment for the processing (in cash or postal orders). A copy of the information page from the person's passport, including their photograph must be added to the submission.
The consular processing fee is £53 per document requested for a natural person and £66 per document for a legal entity. There is an additional archive fee £20 for those documents requested that are issued before 1905.
Payment of the fees for requesting documents must be submitted along with the request form, in the form of cash or postal order. The Embassy does not accept personal cheques, and cannot accommodate the use of credit or debit cards.
If you wish to use the requested document in the UK institutions and receive the document legalised (with an APOSTILLE) by the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Latvia you should pay additional £7 and £13 per document for a legal entity.
Please note: the Embassy cannot take responsibility for information submitted on the forms, and notes that the processing fee is non-refundable, even in the event that the document requested from Latvia is not available.

N.B: when filling out the request form, please read the form carefully and complete only the sections related to the document you are requesting, and the person for whom you are making the request. After completion of the form, to print it out, click "Print" at the bottom on the left. To print the form adequately please verify margins set in the Browser. It can be done by selecting "Page setup" from "File" menu. Verify margins before printing under "Margins". All margins should be 19.05". Verify if "Orientation" under "Paper size" is vertical - "Portrait".
